Yep, 12 months ago today our dossier was logged in to CCAA. Wow, one year. In a way, it's hard to believe a whole year has gone by but in another way, it seems like forever. I couldn't have asked for a more special day... more to come on that later.
This past week has been busy, busy, busy. We finally got our play yard installed as well as the pool. Our poor backyard looks like a total MESS. Poor DH was almost in tears after he has worked so hard on getting the grass to come in nicely. Oh well, the pool will be so worth it once it warms up enough to get in it. Now if we can just get the electrician to show up to run electric to the filter/pump. We also need to get an honest contractor here to build the deck. We've had 3 so far not show up or call to cancel their appointment to give us an estimate. What the heck is wrong with people today. If you don't want the job, just say so. Don't make an appointment with me and then not show or call. UGH!

Yeah for hitting the year mark...I remember celebrating with you last year when we were both racing to get our documents off to China!!! Hopefully things will speed up and Maddy can come home to play in that gorgeous backyard with all those fun things to do!

Congrats on hitting the 1 yr mark. I know, there's still a long way to go. But you are closer than I am.
Cool playground equipment. It's similar to the one we put in. And that pool is huge!!! Makes me wish I was at my parents house. They have a fabulous inground pool that sits at about 86 to 88 degrees. Perfect! FYI, you should probably get a solar cover for it to help warm it when you are not using it and to keep the heat from escaping at night. My parents always have their pool covered since they don't have a heater. Keeps it from drastic temperature fluctuations.
Hooray to one year behind you. Somehow it seems to go a bit faster after that milestone.

I'm with you on crummy contractors. That's why I do nearly everything myself these days...even when I should know better ;0)
Wow that pool is huge! That sucks about the contractor but for some reason seems to happen all the time! Apparently you can't trust anybody anymore.

12 months! I can't even imagine! (We waited 7 months for our referral in 2005 and it seemed like an eternity!) Well, as they say, the best things come to those who wait! (Aren't you completely fed up with hearing THAT one?!) Thanks for your post. I am going to miss Donna too. Her Maddy and my Camille are the same age, so it's been fun to compare notes! Hang in there. We'll check your blog from time to time looking for updates! Can't wait to "meet" Maddy!
