I know for all of you still waiting the time passes very slowly. Believe me when I say "I know!" and I did not have to wait as long as many of you so my heart truly goes out to those who have kept the faith, will keep the faith until their day comes! However, since being home with Maddy and back to work outside the home full-time, I'm telling you, I honestly don't know where the time goes. Somedays I hardly feel I have time to breathe let alone stay up late enough to blog anything. I could fill my blog full with photos of Maddy and yet somehow all I want to do is crawl into bed by 9pm every night. But look, here it is, 9:14 and I'm still up. hehe.
Yesterday was a big day for Maddy (and mommy). She was in her first school program as a little indian. The 4 year old class were the pilgrims. Poor Maddy did not feel well though. She had been crying all morning at daycare about an earache. Like a good mommy, I scheduled her a doctors appointment right AFTER the program. She stood on the stage with the other children but she did NOT participate in the singing or doing the motions. For the last two weeks I have listened and watched her practice her little songs. I had no idea what she was saying but I knew the motions and after watching the children yesterday, she was pretty much on the money with those. We made it to the doctors around 2pm. Poor Maddy just cried and cried that her ear was hurting her. I had given her Motrin and Tylenol already but nothing seemed to help. While we were waiting, a pharmaceutical rep asked me how long we'd been home with Maddy. I told him just over one year. He precedes to tell me that he and his wife have 49 LIDs in front of them before they get a referral from China. How cool is that. He left me his card with is blog address. Check it out
here if you like. Anyway, the doctor said that Maddy had an ear infection. He said she also needed a decongestant but would not give her one because he wasn't sure about her heart condition. (I really need to just find a good pediatrician for Maddy rather than a family practice doc)
Last night we got home for my pa*mpered C*hef party, which only one person out of 20 showed up for :0( and Maddy c/o her ear hurting badly again after two more doses of motrin and tylenol. Next thing you know, Maddy's eardrum ruptures and there is bloody, brownish fluid running down her neck, hand etc. Her hair was soaked. Poor thing. Of course, she feels much better now that the pressure has been relieved. She still has drainage today. And, the doctor says we have to have a follow up in 2 weeks to make sure the ear drum has healed correctly or it could cause hearing loss or speech problems. Again, poor thing. I can only imagine the pain she was in.
In other news, Maddy is scheduled for surgery on Dec 8th. A Pediatric Plastic Surgeon from Cinc*nnati is going to reconstruct her scar on her chest. He says he believes he can make it better and by injecting it with cortisone during surgery, lessen the chance of it coming back so thick and painful. He gave us a 70 - 80 % chance which we think are fairly good odds so we are going to give it a try. Anything to make Maddy not be in so much discomfort everyday- both physically and emotionally as she has to tell everyone she had "surjry"
Below are some pictures from the Thank*giving Program at Maddy's school. Enjoy

Maddy's Preschool. 3 year olds = indians ; 4 year olds = pilgrims

My poor little sickly indian - ain't she cute!

Sick though she may be, she will NEVER turn down a good meal that includes NOODLES
I believe this is Maddy's first real friend. She talks about this little girl all the time and the two of them found each other to play with after the program, holding hands and running through the gymasium together.
